Supplies to bathe your Persian cat - Groomer's Goop Grooming Products - Grooming Tips
Having been a Persian cat breeder, we have given our Persians their fair share of baths over the years. We feel that there are many things to think about before you even consider putting your Persian cat into the bath for the scrub-a-dub-dub. What types of "tools" and supplies do you need to bathe your Persian cat? With this project, an old expression comes to mind, "those who fail to plan, plan to fail." With a little advanced planning you can make the cat grooming and bathing experience a positive one for both you and your Persian companion.
Supplies to consider having on hand to prepare for bathing your Persian cat vary, the following list is just some of the basic items you might want to have laid out for the bath before involving your Persian cat:

Grooming Tips - Cat Bath Tips - Supplies to Bathe a Cat
Supplies to consider having on hand to prepare for bathing your Persian cat vary, the following list is just some of the basic items you might want to have laid out for the bath before involving your Persian cat:
Apron (water proof) Protective eye wear, (ie goggles) Towels Wash cloth Shampoos Goop Hand cleaner (for degreasing) Hair Conditioner Hair detangler Groomer's Goop Premium Degreaser (works great for degreasing a Persian coat) Groomer's Goop Glossy Coat Pet Shampoo Groomer's Goop Glossy Coat Pet Conditioner Combs Nail clippers Ear cleaner Toothbrush (yes, human toothbrush) (No, not for brushing their teeth!) Q-tips, cotton balls Small plastic cup (about the size of two cups if you were to use a measuring cup)
Then next thing to consider is where do I give my cat a bath, the bathtub or the kitchen sink? The kitchen sink seems to be the easiest place, especially if you have a sprayer hose.

This is the type of metal tooth comb we recommend for combing and dematting your Persian cat. It is also called a finishing comb or a Greyhound comb. It is available at most of your larger retail outlets such as PetsMart or PetCo, online at Revival Animal www.revivalanimal.com or PetEdge www.petedge.com.

We recommend you try Groomer's Goop Degreaser, Glossy Coat Pet Shampoo and coat conditioners. Does their coat attract dirt and look greasy? If you answered yes, your Persian's coat may need to be degreased.
